Helen Savage ACMA CGMA

Having worked in accountancy for 15 years, Helen has extensive experience in practice, public and private environments. Helen’s specialities are in understanding the functionality of an enterprise, so she’ll make sure that Continuum has an excellent insight into your business.

Helen has had varied senior and finance director roles following her qualification as a Chartered Management Accountant. Consequently with her valuable experience she has seen at first-hand how not to run a company as well as how to run one!

Helen enjoys finding a happy balance between working hard for her clients and playing hard with her children. Helen is also a Trustee for the Joe Glover Trust, a charity close to her heart that links both Helen and Brian outside of Continuum.

Not professing to be a master chef, Helen’s been known to burn a boiled egg. Best stick to accountancy then…

Brian Green

Brian’s true passion is helping SMEs move from the ‘S’ to the ‘M’- which is how Continuum was started. As founding Partner, Brian’s background spans over thirty years in senior finance roles in both industry and practice. Spending his formative years in the City, he has also headed the UK business advisory division for the largest French Chartered Accountants.

Added to these and others, Brian has played pivotal FD roles with several companies in the new media field including flotations on the Nasdaq and AIM markets. He now sits on the board of several private companies as a Non Executive Director as well as being a Trustee for the children’s cancer charity, the Joe Glover Trust.
Described at various times as “The best FD outside London” and “The man every budding entrepreneur should turn to”, Brian prefers to describe himself as “The best roving midfielder Chelsea never had!”.

Brian specializes in corporate financial strategy, mergers & acquisitions and corporate structuring.

His burning ambition? “To convince the authorities that small business really can function with common sense and integrity as opposed to reams of bureaucracy”.

Marie Lee FCCA

Marie has worked in practice for 17 years covering all aspects of Accounting, Corporation Tax, VAT, Self-assessment and client care. She qualified with the ACCA in 2004 and gained fellowship in 2009. One of her main aims is to help people understand their accounts better with clear explanations in an understandable manner.
Aside from her first love of accountancy and all things financial, Marie supports the Indianapolis Colts who are an American football team in the NFL. She also loves listening to music and going to the cinema!

Andrew Carter

Head of Tax

Andrew began his tax career with the Inland Revenue as a Tax Inspector but hopes that won’t put you off him. Since leaving HMRC, Andrew has worked with accountancy powerhouses such as PwC and KPMG as well as smaller niche advisory firms. Andrew relishes the challenges and variety of giving tax advice to owner-managed businesses where those running the business are often pursuing a dream as much as they are financial success.

With tax legislation becoming ever more complex, it’s important to have someone on your side who knows the rules and understands how HMRC thinks. Andrew describes his tax work as “half the time making sure clients don’t trip up and the other half of the time helping them to run”.
When he’s not reducing his client’s tax bills, Andrew spends a lot of time outdoors, playing golf enthusiastically if not well, taking part in cross-country obstacle races and helping with coaching at Southampton RFC.

As long ago as 1789, American politician Benjamin Franklin stated that “nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes”. I can’t help with the first of those two but I’ll always do my best to help you minimise the second.

Carol Churcher

Carol has worked in self-assessment tax for over twenty years, she is also an excellent bookkeeper and communicator. If Carol says she will do something, do it she will! A busy grandmother and keen traveller Carol is an essential and valuable member of our team.

Mandy Atton

Mandy has been with Continuum since 2015 and apart from managing payroll and pensions for many of our clients she has become more and more vital to the team. Her knowledge of customers and our company processes knows no bounds! She switched from being a food microbiologist to working in bookkeeping and payroll to meet family commitments just over 15 years ago – guess the age of the eldest!
Mandy has four children (including a husband!) and has a keen interest in sports such as golf and swimming.

Katie Scade

Katie qualified with the ACCA in April 2018. Having worked in industry for the previous 5 years, Katie likes to hold an in depth knowledge of the businesses she works for in order to deliver management accounts and a range of reports so to aid strategic decision making.

Having worked with Brian in her previous role; Katie joined Continuum in July 2018 in order to expand her knowledge across a wider range of businesses whilst maintaining her existing commitments.

Outside of work, Katie is an early bird and likes to be up at the crack of dawn to go for a run or head to the gym. Katie spends weekends in Devon with family and friends and will often be found in the local pub with a pint of beer, undoing all the hard work previously achieved in the gym!

Chegwin is our office dog. He is in the office most days and usually welcomes clients with a friendly tail wag. He has an in-depth knowledge of accounts and financial procedures. Unfortunately he is unable to communicate any of this to us and has therefore been demoted to office security.
