Important Update: Directors and PSCs Must Complete ID Verification

With effect from 18th November this year, Companies House has announced that obtaining a Companies House Personal Code via an identity verification process, will become a legal requirement for all company directors and people with significant control (PSCs) . This also applies to partners.

As a registered Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) with Companies House, we are officially approved to undertake ID verification checks on individuals even if they are not our existing clients. When you use an ACSP such as ourselves, your personal documents used in the ID process are maintained by us and do not get sent to Companies House.

Failure to verify your identity with Companies House and obtain a personal code may result in serious consequences such as the following:

  • You will not be able to submit mandatory filings such as confirmation statement filings

  • You risk your company being struck off / dissolved

  • You may be prosecuted

  • You risk incurring a financial Penalty

  • You risk being blacked / disqualified from acting as a director in the UK
