Welcome to 2024

I don’t know about you, but these days when I listen to politicians of all persuasions I just hear a ‘word salad’ of meaningless platitudes. I’ve come to the conclusion that relying on politicians to make things ‘better’ or ‘brighter’ or even ‘different’ is a forlorn hope. I forget which politician it was who said that the best thing a Government can do is “get out of the way” but that’s a rare admission.

So what can we do? “Knuckle down, work hard, be patient”, sounds like the sort of thing my grandparents said but, you know what, they might have been right.

Well here’s our contribution to that. By now, you’ve probably finished the Jeffrey Archer thriller you got as your ‘Secret Santa’ gift so we’ve prepared another gripping read - our Year End Tax Review. No spies or assassins in this but instead a look at some of the planning points that might be of use to you. To download our 2023-24 (tax) year end review, click on the link below. Below the link, I’ll give a brief summary of what’s included.

YEAR END TAX REVIEW

What’s in the Year End Review?

I’m glad you asked!

  • A reminder of the key self-assessment dates - make some notes in your diary!

  • A reminder of the Income Tax thresholds

  • Gift Aid planning points

  • State and private pension planning points

  • A run through of the tax position if you let out property.

  • CGT and IHT planning points

  • Spies and assassins (OK, just joking)

  • CapEx rules for those in business

All that in just one review?

I know, hard to believe - you’ll have to read it yourself to find out!
