Spring is ready to Spring!
February is a funny time of the year. Well, it is if you are a tax advisor, emerging blinking into the sunlight after weeks in a row preparing tax returns. It gives us a chance to look forward to the year ahead, which for 2024 promises to be ‘interesting’. We have the budget on March 6th, possibly an autumn statement in September followed by an election and a post-election budget. Everything we currently know about tax could have changed by Christmas!
Does that mean there’s no point knowing the current tax rules?. Of course not (that was a rhetorical question). It’s always good to remind yourself or pick up new knowledge as no matter how desperate or deranged any particular Chancellor is, most of the tax rules survive a budget. With that in mind, I’ve picked out some topics that will be of interest to anyone in business, reminders of some rules which can easily trip up the unwary and sprinkled in some tax cases that, if nothing else, should be amusing. It’s all in our Spring Newsletter which can be downloaded using the link below
